About Lobe

Lobe is a playful and vibrant collection of hand-painted wearable art earrings by Matakana artist Clare Woods.

Each pair begins with Clare’s original painted artwork, then is assembled and brought to life in her studio. They’re bold, joyful and made to brighten your day.

All Lobe earrings are lightweight and finished with sterling silver findings, so they feel great to wear and are ideal for sensitive ears. Think statement energy without the heavy hanging feel.

While Clare works to produce 4 to 5 collections in a series, no two pairs are ever the same. Each set has its own personality and colour story, and once a series is made, it can never be repeated. What you choose is truly unique and yours alone.

Lobe began in 2022 when Clare found herself with unexpected time to sit still after breaking her knee. That pause opened the door to a new creative idea, and Lobe quickly grew into a fun extension of her studio practice.
